Financial Reports and Budgets

The Port of Bellingham is a careful steward of the public's assets and investments. The Port has been awarded the Certificate of Financial Achievement (CAFR) annually since 1992. This award is given to entities that meet the highest standard of financial reporting as set by the Governmental Finance Officers Association. The CAFR contains the Port's annual financial statements as well as a narrative section providing statistical information regarding the Port's business operations and a guideline as to Port's future plans.

Early each November, the Port publishes a proposed budget for public comment during two public hearings. A final adopted budget is published late in November.

The Port also publishes its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report at the end of each year.

The State of Washington conducts an annual audit of the Port of Bellingham's financial management practices. These audits determine whether the Port of Bellingham complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures.
