Foreign Trade Zones
The Port of Bellingham operates three Foreign Trade Zones with locations in Bellingham, Blaine and Sumas. Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) are areas within the United States under U.S. Customs supervision, but for Customs’ purposes, they are treated as though they are located outside of the United States. They are our country’s version of a free trade zone.
