AMHS To Begin Accepting Winter Reservations
Round trip, driver rides for free discounts again offered
(Juneau) — The Alaska Marine Highway System will begin accepting reservations on Sept. 1 for winter sailings. The new schedule includes popular discounted fares that have been offered in past seasons.
“Keeping these vessels filled in the winter months is a challenge and these discounts have proven to raise our ridership, and consequently, our revenues,” said AMHS General Manager Capt. John Falvey.
- A 30 percent discount on round trip tickets for passengers and accompanied drivable vehicles will be available from September 16 through March 31. This discount applies only to passengers and drivable vehicles and not to the price of staterooms.
- The AMHS “Driver Rides for Free” discount will also be offered from Oct.1 to April 30. For this special, the vehicle must be operable.
- A 50 percent discount from the standard adult fare is also available for passengers age 65 and older for travel between Alaska ports between Oct. 1 and April 30.
Other restrictions also apply so passengers are encouraged to contact AMHS for details or go online at www.FerryAlaska.com. The telephone reservations office opens at 7 a.m. on Sept. 1 and normal business hours are until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1-800-642-0066. Reservations are also available through the online AMHS reservations system at www.FerryAlaska.com.
