Port Invites Community to View The Waterfront District Models & Information

[Bellingham, Wash.] In response to growing public interest, the Port of Bellingham opened a public information area showcasing the latest draft planning concepts for The Waterfront District. This information area is in the Harbor Center Conference Room, 1801 Roeder Avenue, and will be open during regular business hours (8 a.m.- 5 p.m.), Monday through Friday.

This building is alongside Squalicum Harbor near Bellwether on the Bay. Parking is free.

The display includes new three dimensional models of two potential development scenarios for the waterfront property, as well as displays explaining how road connections could be phased in as the site develops. The display also shows how the entire project is being planned to meet community sustainability goals.
Port staff will be available during weekday lunch hours (noon - 1p.m.) to answer people's questions about the redevelopment project.

This information area will remain open and will be updated during the Master Planning process.

The Harbor Center Conference Room is a shared space with the Port's Board of Commissioners, so it will be used by the Commission for their meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The display materials also can be seen during the Waterfront Advisory Group meeting from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6 at this same location.

If you have questions or want to arrange a group tour or viewing of the information at a specific time, contact Communications Manager Carolyn Casey at .
