[Bellingham, Wash.] Hedge your vacation dollar and start planning now for the 2009 summer boating season by attending the fifth annual Charterfest at Squalicum Harbor. Chartering from Bellingham is a great way to tour the San Juans and Canadian Gulf Islands, celebrate an anniversary or birthday, or take the fishing trip of a lifetime. Motoryachts and sailboats will be on display and representatives from local Bellingham charter companies will be on hand to answer questions and even book that dream vacation.

"Charterfest gives people the opportunity to climb on board their potential charter boat, to see, touch and feel the boat inside and out," said Squalicum Harbormaster Mike Endsley. "That kind of hands-on interaction with the boats and charter company staff really allows someone to come away from the event with a great deal of information they might not have gotten otherwise."

CharterFest will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 4 - 5 at the Gate 3 Visitor Dock at Squalicum Harbor. Gate 3 is near the Bellingham Yacht Club, 722 Coho Way in Bellingham. Parking and admission are free.

Participating yacht charters include:
• Bellhaven Charters
• Par Yacht Charters
• San Juan Sailing
• San Juan Yachting

This event is sponsored by the Port of Bellingham and participating charter companies, Bellhaven Charters, Par Yacht Charters, San Juan Sailing and San Juan Yachting.
