Families who enjoy visiting the Port’s downtown waterfront bike park will have another reason to get up early on Saturday mornings.
Beginning June 3, 2023 the Port will kick off a series of free, family-fun events every Saturday from 10-11 am through August in the Portal Container Village located on Bellingham’s downtown waterfront. The Wake and Shake Summer Series will feature different weekly performances to get kids moving including hula hoops, music and dancing, animals, yoga, story time and more.
Wake and Shake performances will take place on the Peter Paulson stage with the backdrop of the six digester tanks salvaged from the former Georgia-Pacific site. The stage is located on a large grass lawn and clad with red bricks from the former Pulp and Paper mill to celebrate the industrial history of the waterfront.
