The Port of Bellingham’s Regional Economic Partnership is working closely with Whatcom County Emergency Management and monitoring the public health situation in Whatcom County re: the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). The resources in the tabs above, and the preparedness principles used continuity planning, can be applied not only to natural disasters, but also man-made disasters and epidemic/pandemic situations.

The Port of Bellingham, the Bellingham Regional Chamber of Commerce, the WWU Small Business Development Center, and the Whatcom Community Foundation co-hosted a Disaster Preparedness & Business Continuity Planning Workshop at the Squalicum Boathouse.
Presentations were given by myriad experts, including FEMA Region 10, Washington State Emergency Management, and Debbie Ahl, of Edgewater Advising. Local organizations also discussed locally available resources. Many are linked in the tabs above with the original presentations linked below.
