Marine Trades Job Fair Returns to Bellingham's Waterfront on May 4th

The Port's Marine Trades Job Fair is set to return to Bellingham's waterfront on Thursday, May 4th from 10 am to 1 pm at the Fishermen’s Pavilion. This event has no admission fees; students who sign up in advance will receive a free lunch courtesy of Trident Seafoods.

The Marine Trades Job Fair offers students and community members the opportunity to network with working waterfront employers who are actively recruiting employees, to learn more about training and internship opportunities, and to try-a-trade in the marine industry.

“Marine trades in Whatcom County create or support over 6,000 jobs” said Port Executive Director Rob Fix. “The Marine Trades Job Fair is a terrific opportunity for job seekers to learn more about our working waterfront by speaking directly with employers from multiple sectors and industries who are actively recruiting hardworking and enthusiastic employees.”

Job fair participants include the Alaska Marine Highway System, San Juan Sailing, LFS Marine & Outdoor, Phoenix Processor LP, Turn Point Marine, Trident Seafoods, Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, Tri-County Diesel Marine, Birdon, All American Marine, Alaskan Leader Fisheries, People AK, Seafarers International Union, Schooner Zodiac, Westwind Marine, the Working Waterfront Coalition of Whatcom County, Seaview Boatyard, Mantle Industries LLC, Northline Seafoods, and Employment Security / Worksource.

Attendees are encouraged to research job fair participants ahead of time, ask questions and bring copies of their resume.
