The Port of Bellingham is seeking federal investments to restore a direct rail connection at the Bellingham Shipping Terminal (BST). The addition of rail as a mode of moving cargo at the BST dramatically increases the community’s opportunities to attract high-value cargo by allowing for a seamless connection to BNSF mainline rail. The rail connection project provides a generation opportunity to maximize years of work and investments to bring back well-paying waterfront jobs to the northern shores of Puget Sound.
