The Port of Bellingham, in conjunction with AECOM Corporation, has prepared a new Bellingham International Airport Master Plan - a comprehensive study of the airport's future development needs.
A public hearing was held on the September 4, 2018 Commission meeting on the Airport Master Plan where a motion was unanimously approved with a 3-0 vote to accept and approve the Airport Master Plan to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for approval. The final draft was sent to the FAA for final review on August 9, 2019. The FAA approved the airport's Master Plan on October 4, 2019: FAA Approval Letter
Airport staff is seeking Port adoption of the new master plan at the November 5, 2019 Commission meeting where a final public hearing will be held.
