Port Commission Selects 2017 Officers

Port Commissioner Dan Robbins has been selected by the Commission to serve as President of the Port of Bellingham’s Board of Commissioners for 2017.  Commissioner Bobby Briscoe was picked to be Vice President and Michael McAuley was chosen for Secretary.


Commissioners also determined who would serve on local boards for 2017:

• Whatcom Council of Governments: Michael McAuley
• Washington Public Ports Association: Dan Robbins
• Whatcom County Economic Development Investment Program Committee: Bobby Briscoe
• Western Crossing (Shared Port and Western Washington University Development Entity): Dan Robbins


The next Port Commission meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 3, at 4 p.m.  Regular Commission meetings will be held in the Harbor Center Conference Room, 1801 Roeder Avenue, on the first and third Tuesday of each month in 2017 with three exceptions: the second meeting in January has been scheduled for January 24, the first meeting in July has been scheduled for July 5, and in August there will be only one Commission meeting on August 15.  Port Commission meetings will start at 4:00 p.m. with an open public comment period.  All meetings will be live streamed and archived on the Port’s YouTube Channel.  Commission meeting agendas, minutes and video recordings are available on the Port’s website at www.portofbellingham.com
