Freedom Boat Club Coming Soon to Squalicum Harbor

Freedom Boat Club, the world’s largest boat club operator and leaders within the boat sharing concept, today announced its newest location with the addition of Port of Bellingham. This new location will be owned and operated by Shawn and Tracy Ottenbreit representing the 8th location they have opened within the Freedom franchise network and the 12th location in the state of Washington overall for the Freedom brand.

The new Bellingham location expands access for local boaters to the San Juan and Gulf Islands, one of the top boating destinations in the world. With great harbors to explore, a diverse fishing season and an expansive network of Washington State Marine Parks for day use or overnight camping, Freedom Boat Club members have limitless opportunities to spend time with friends and family on the water.

“We are thrilled to continue our growth across the Pacific Northwest and support the expansion of the Freedom brand with the opening of our newest location at the Port of Bellingham,” said Tracy Ottenbreit. “We have received such an overwhelming positive response from our members who enjoy the convenience and accessibility of Freedom, and we couldn’t be more excited to offer an additional opportunity to explore some of most desired boating waterways in our region. We look forward to officially opening for the 2022 boating season and supporting many new memories on the water for our members.”

The Port Bellingham location will officially open for the 2022 boating season on May 1, 2022 and will initially launch with pocket cruisers, bowriders, center consoles and pilothouse offshore fishing boats with plans for further expansion. Freedom Boat Club Port of Bellingham will be located at 8 Bellwether Way, Bellingham WA 98225.

“The Port of Bellingham is proud to welcome Freedom Boat Club to Whatcom County” said Port Commission President Bobby Briscoe. “Squalicum Harbor provides easy access to some of the best cruising waters in the world and Freedom Boat Club offers a simple and affordable option for people interested in boating and fishing throughout the San Juan Islands.”
